[investigating] "Test Tube Basics" quest is bugged

The quest log says I haven't yet made Spriggaise, even though I have. Making it again doesn't seem to fix the issue:

• Also if you use the try-something-new option to experiment with a formula you've already unlocked the ingredients fail to make the chemical. For example, if you've discovered the formula for spriggaise the only way to make spriggaise is by clicking on its box in the recipes-- and NOT by dragging the correct ingredients into the new experiment slots.
  
  My poor brain expects the correct formula to make spriggaise, no matter how or where the elements are correctly assembled, whether it is a new experiment or not. At the very least I'd expect to receive a message, "You've already made spriggaise!", if it is going to fail as a new experiment.
